The Verse:

Jesus said to his disciples to be on their way
Across the Galilee Sea while he did stay to pray
To Bethsaida or Capernaum they did go by boat
But they wondered if the storm would let them stay afloat

Then the Lord did come a walkin' to the boat on the sea
With the wind just a blowin' as the waves broke free
And his friends thought a spirit walked out from the coast
And could only cross the water 'cause he was a ghost

Then the master spoke and said “Be of good cheer”
It is I, be not afraid” his message they did hear
And when Peter heard the words that Jesus then did talk
He did ask if on the water he could also walk

Then the Lord told him to come to him and step right up
On the water he could walk if he had faith enough
So then Peter went a walking to the Savior dear
Till the wind began to blow and make him start to fear

The he called out loud, “Lord, save me” for he could not stand
So the Savior caught him falling with his stretched out hand
“Oh ye of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt”
And then Peter learned a bit of what the Lord's about

Then they climbed aboard the boat just while the storm now ceased
And the fear of the disciples who were there decreased
Then they looked out on the water where the Savior trod
Saying clearly “Of a truth, thou art the Son of God”
