The verse:

Jesus went to the wilderness for forty days
Where He fasted and he prayed to learn His Father's ways
And He didn't eat a thing as on His way he went
And He got real hungry and His strength was spent

Then the devil came to Jesus and to Him he said
“If you're the Son of God, out of this stone make bread”
Then the Savior said, “Man shall not live by bread alone.
But by every word of God,” these words became well known.

Then they went to a mountain and saw kingdoms of the world
'Cause the devil thought the interest of the Lord would then be stirred
“All this power will I give thee” was the devil's whine
And then he said, “if thou wilt worship me all shall be thine.”

“Get thee behind me Satan,” Jesus said to the prod
“It is written Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God”
Then he said directly to him, cause he had the nerve
That to God and to him only shalt thou serve

To a high temple pinnacle they then did go
And they looked down from the top down to the ground below
Then the devil made an offer and his voice was tense
“If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence”

For the angels sure will bear thee up, 'cause its well known
That they will not let thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Then the Lord turned to the devil not to be misread
“Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God,” is what he said

So remember when your tempted and the devil has his say
That the Lord resisted Satan cause he fought against God's way
And if you resist temptation and be strong and sure
Then the spirit of the Lord will keep you clean and pure.
