The verse:
Mary stood right there beside the sepulchre and wept
And she did look inside to where His body had been kept
Angels stood by her at the place where Jesus lay
Saying “Woman, why weepest thou?” to her upon that day
Saying “Woman, why weepest thou?” to her upon that day
“They have taken my Lord,” said she, “and I know not
Where they have laid him,” 'cause she did could not find the spot
Then she turned around to one who stood close by at hand
Who she did not recognize, or His presence understand
Said he “Woman, why weepest thou?” these words He said right now
And then again He questioned her and said “Whom seekest thou?”
She thought he was the gardener and she asked where Jesus lay
If he would only tell her then she'd take his body far away
'Twas then that Jesus spoke her name, and “Mary” was his word
She turned to him, “Rabboni” cried, for now she knew she'd heard
The master speak, she saw the Lord, for Jesus was alive
Her heart did fill with love and joy, her spirit now did thrive
She came toward the Lord of all, for now her sorrows ended
He saith to her to “Touch me not, for I've not yet ascended”
He cautioned her with care and love and told her not to bother
For it was time for Him to go and rise up to His Father
He bade her tell His brethren “I ascend unto my God”
She told them she had seen the Lord and walked where he had trod
She'd heard His word he'd spoken after rising from the dead
And Jesus' resurrection news from her became widespread
